Samsung HT-D550 Reviews

I bought Samsung HT-D550 after I returned Sony home theater, without knowing what to expect. I have read reviews on the other Samsung home theater systems, which reveals poor performance. This makes me very leery on buying this Samsung HT-D550. However, I was pleasantly surprised later because it was a lot better than what I expected. The speaker’s size is quite very deceiving. Although they were small, they produce wonderful sound. The Samsung HT-D550 definitely sounds better at home, than it was at the store. The system is very easy to set up. The only downside is the speaker’s wire for the rear speakers is not long enough. With the special connectors for plugging at the back of the system, I had to do cutting and splicing to make them longer. Other than that, Samsung HT-D550 is wonderful, and has great bass sound.

The Samsung HT-D550 works great. It can play DIVX, DVD, MP3 and others. According to Amazon, it is WiFi enabled, but it isn’t. I was just hoping that I would get a player that plays media off of the network. I did make a research before buying, and no other sites say it has WiFi, and I was just hoping. Mysteriously, Samsung does not mention this on their website. By utilizing the HDMI connection, as the player turns to on and puts the disc in place, the TV turns on at the same time changes by itself to the right input. It is very convenient, even my 18-month old baby has already learned to get a movie playing. The sound is brilliant too. I had a home theater system before, but the center channel is always too low. A booming bass comes out from the subwoofer before even the center channel is loud enough to emit voices. With Samsung HT-D550 the voices are very clear and crisp. The same thing is true with the bass. I also appreciate the “touch sensitive” buttons. Cleaning is easy from sticky fingerprints of my kids.
